Whether you are a lover of George Burns, a lover of history or a lover of just plain good theater, Say Goodnight Gracie makes for 90 minutes of great entertainment.
It would be a sin to miss Virginia Rep’s morally provocative production of To Kill A Mockingbird.
Its campy yet classy elements and energetic and likeable cast had just the right style.
‘Night Mother contains two extremely strong performances by two of Richmond’s strongest actresses, Kimberly Jones Clark and Catherine Shaffner.
Henrico Theatre Company made an excellent choice with Tender Lies. It starts off a little slow, but it comes together wonderfully.
Even if Speech and Debate is performed in the area again, I doubt it will have the same quality that resulted from the perfect mixture of just the right cast, just the right director and staff in just the right venue.
I hope it doesn’t take another five years for Maupin to put together another show.
It is TheatreLab’s mission to present things that are different. On this front, they truly succeeded. At times it was entertaining. At times it was intriguing. At all times, it was different.
This truly great pop opera will make you laugh, make you cry, have you humming and tapping along and leave you wanting more as the performers in bare truly bare their souls in a powerfully heartfelt evening of thought-provoking entertainment.
